Tour Manager & Sound Engineer
Jon Courtenay UK Tour
Jon Courtenay — lifelong friend and the first-ever Golden Buzzer act chosen by Ant & Dec to win Britain’s Got Talent — asked Andrew to join his UK national tour as Tour Manager, Sound Engineer and Lighting Technician. From April rehearsals through to the final night at The Lowry in Salford in November 2021, Andrew was with the show every step of the way.
Twenty-six venues across the country — mostly theatres, some town halls and similar spaces — each with their own acoustic challenges, house rigs and technical teams to work with. Andrew managed show cues in QLab (teaching himself the program in his own time before the tour), coordinated venue technical staff and merchandise teams, helped install the grand piano and hang screens at every load-in, and was first in to help dismantle after every show.

The show cues were run from QLab, and Andrew was a very quick learner — having not had much experience with the program before, he soon became very proficient having spent considerable time on his own learning it, showing great dedication.
As well as running the show as production manager, Andrew wasn’t averse to the hard graft — helping to install the grand piano, hang the screens and set props during a load-in that could take well over an hour, then immediately after the show he was the first helping the crew dismantle everything and load it back into the truck.
I can’t fault Andrew’s work ethic at all and would happily employ him again. He is a hard worker, a knowledgeable and talented sound engineer, and an approachable and amiable production manager.”
