Noise-Isolating
Headphone Hire
Silent disco, conference breakout sessions, multi-zone exhibitions and immersive presentations — professional wireless headphone systems delivered and managed by Soundcheck Audio Visual.

What are conference headphones?
The smartest solution
in a noisy room.
Wireless noise-isolating headphones solve one of the most common problems at exhibitions, conferences and multi-zone events — how do you deliver a clear, focused audio experience when the environment around you is noisy, busy and unpredictable?
Instead of fighting the ambient noise with a louder PA system, delegates simply put on a headset and hear the presenter, performance or content delivered directly, crisply and clearly — with sealed, noise-isolating ear cushions blocking out the world around them.
Each headset connects wirelessly to a transmitter that receives audio from your presenter's microphone or audio source. Up to three simultaneous channels mean multiple speakers or breakout sessions can run in the same space at the same time — each audience member choosing which channel to tune in to.
How it works
Simple for delegates.
Powerful for organisers.
Transmitter connects to your audio source
Andrew connects the transmitter to the presenter's microphone feed, laptop audio or mixing desk via standard connections.
Headsets broadcast wirelessly
The transmitter broadcasts an FM signal to all headsets in range — typically covering a large hall, exhibition stand or outdoor space with ease.
Delegates choose their channel
With up to 3 simultaneous channels, attendees can switch between speakers, languages or breakout sessions at the touch of a button.
Sealed, noise-isolating design does the rest
Each headset's sealed ear cushions block ambient noise — so even in a busy exhibition hall or noisy venue, the audio experience is immersive and distraction-free.
Use cases
One technology.
Many applications.
From a silent disco to a multi-lingual conference — wireless headphone systems are one of the most versatile and impactful tools in the AV toolkit.
Silent Disco & Party Events
The classic application. Multiple DJ channels, LED-lit headsets, and a dancefloor that looks incredible — all without disturbing neighbours or breaking noise curfews.
Conference Breakout Sessions
Run multiple breakout sessions simultaneously in one open space. Each group tunes into their session — no need for separate rooms, no noise bleed between groups.
Exhibition Seminar Theatres
The noise of a busy exhibition hall is no match for sealed, noise-isolating headsets. Visitors can focus entirely on your presentation without distraction from the stands around you.
Multi-Lingual Events
Deliver simultaneous translation across multiple languages — each delegate selects their language channel. Particularly useful for international conferences and corporate events.
Healthcare & NHS Events
Approved and used by NHS trusts for training and conference events. Discreet, hygienic and highly effective for focused sessions in clinical and healthcare environments.
Outdoor Cinema & Screenings
A crystal-clear audio experience for outdoor cinema and theatre events — no speaker rigs, no noise complaints, just immersive audio delivered directly to every seat.

How Soundcheck rescued
an NHS event with 24 hours' notice

NHS Sussex Digital In Reach Team · Conference
Two rooms. Open space. Impossible noise levels. Solved in 24 hours.
A Sussex NHS Trust had a problem. Their digital conference was running breakout sessions across two rooms in a large open venue — and the ambient noise was making it impossible for attendees to hear clearly. Their original AV solution wasn't working. They called Andrew the day before the event.
Within 24 hours, Andrew sourced additional equipment, redesigned the audio setup across both rooms, and introduced noise-isolating conference headsets. Every attendee could hear every word — clearly, without distraction, regardless of the noise around them. He arrived early to set up, stayed on-site throughout, and the event was praised as a resounding success.
"Soundcheck's innovative use of noise-cancelling headphones allowed for focused sessions without distraction — an impressive touch that enhanced the experience for all involved. Their communication was outstanding throughout."

Professional grade.
Easy to use.
All headsets supplied by Soundcheck are premium, professional-grade systems — not consumer products. Fully charged, tested and ready to go when they arrive at your venue.
Multi-channel — what does it mean?
Each transmitter broadcasts on a separate FM channel. Delegates with multi-channel headsets can flick between channels instantly — choosing which presenter, language or session to listen to. Here's an example from a real exhibition setup:

All headphone hire is bespoke
The number of headsets, channels, transmitters and days varies enormously by event. Every quote is tailored. Typical day-rate hire starts from a very competitive price per headset, reducing with quantity and duration.
Case study — headphones in a noisy venue
Dutch Embassy Expo
The Bike Shed, Old Street, London
The Bike Shed in Old Street is a stunning vaulted brick venue — and a naturally loud one. For this Dutch Embassy expo event, the ambient noise of the space and surrounding activity would have made it virtually impossible for the audience to follow the presentations and panel discussions clearly. Conference headphones solved it entirely. Every delegate wore a headset and heard every word with complete clarity — despite the noise all around them.

Accessibility & inclusion
Making every delegate
feel included.
One of the most powerful — and often overlooked — applications of conference headphones is accessibility. At a recent event, Soundcheck supplied headsets to a conference of 250 delegates. Among them were 15 attendees who were hard of hearing.
Without headphones, those 15 people would have struggled throughout — straining to catch every word, missing context, feeling isolated in a room of 235 people who could hear clearly. With the headsets, they received the audio feed directly, at their own preferred volume, with background noise blocked out by the sealed headset design.
It's a small addition to any event setup — but for those delegates, it was the difference between feeling like a full participant and feeling like an outsider. That matters.
"Those 15 delegates went from struggling at the back of a 250-person room to being fully present in the conversation. The headphones didn't just help them hear — they made them feel included."

Headphone hire questions,
answered honestly
Wireless headphone systems solve noise problems that no amount of extra PA can fix. Here is what organisers ask before hiring them.
How many headsets can you supply?
Hire starts at a minimum of 10 headsets and scales into the hundreds. Tell Andrew your expected numbers and he will supply a sensible margin above them, because at a silent disco or a busy seminar theatre the headsets that go missing mid session are the ones you needed.
How many channels do the headsets have?
Up to three simultaneous channels. That means three DJs, three breakout sessions or three languages running in the same space at the same time, with each person choosing their channel at the touch of a button on the headset.
How far do the headsets work from the transmitter?
The transmitter broadcasts an FM signal that comfortably covers a large hall, an exhibition stand or an outdoor space. Range depends on the building, so Andrew positions the transmitter during setup and walks the room to confirm coverage before your guests arrive.
Will the batteries last a full day?
Yes. The headsets are professional systems with full day battery life, and they arrive fully charged and tested. On multi day events they are collected and recharged overnight so every session starts with a full set.
Can we use them for simultaneous translation?
Yes, and it is one of the strongest uses of the system. Each language runs on its own channel and delegates select the one they need, which is particularly useful for international conferences. You supply the interpreters and Soundcheck supplies the feed and the headsets.
How do headphones help delegates who are hard of hearing?
The presenter's voice is delivered straight to the headset, so nobody is relying on how far a PA throws across a room. Each delegate controls their own volume, and the sealed ear cushions block the background noise that makes rooms hard to follow. At a recent 250 delegate conference, 15 hard of hearing attendees went from struggling at the back of the room to being fully part of the conversation, and every delegate wore a headset so nobody was singled out.
Are the headsets cleaned between events?
Yes. Headsets are cleaned, checked and charged between every hire, which matters particularly for the healthcare and NHS events Soundcheck supplies regularly.
What does headphone hire cost?
Every quote is tailored, because the number of headsets, channels, transmitters and days changes the figure enormously. Day rate hire starts from a competitive price per headset and the rate per unit falls as quantity and duration go up. Ask for a tailored quote and it will come back within the hour.
Do you set the system up, or is it a drop off?
Setup and support are included, with Andrew on site. He connects the transmitter to the microphone feed, laptop or mixing desk, sets the channels, confirms coverage and hands out headsets. If something needs adjusting mid event, there is somebody in the room to do it.
Can we run a silent disco where there is a noise curfew?
That is exactly what they are for. The music lives in the headsets rather than in the room, so a dancefloor can run late in a hotel, a marquee or a residential area without breaching a noise limit or upsetting neighbours. Multiple DJ channels keep it competitive, and the room stays quiet enough to hold a conversation.
Are you insured, and is the equipment tested?
Yes. Soundcheck holds £5,000,000 of public liability insurance and professional indemnity cover, and all equipment is PAT tested. Healthcare and NHS venues in particular ask for this before an event, and the certificates are supplied on request.
What happens if we cancel?
The terms are graduated by how much notice you give. Cancellation charges apply from the date you cancel, unless the event is rebooked to a new date within six months at the time of cancelling, in which case nothing further is payable. Otherwise: six months or more before the event, nothing is payable; three to six months, 50% of the booking value; one to three months, 75%; less than one month, 100%. The booking fee is non-refundable in all cases.
