Eight weeks out, no venue, no logistics, and a previous supplier who had walked away. This is how a last-minute rescue in Dubai became a nine-day highlight of the client's corporate calendar.
Known then as BSO ixreach, BSO is a global infrastructure and connectivity provider. It builds and runs its own high-performance network linking major data centres worldwide, powering the fast, mission-critical systems that businesses in financial markets, technology and telecoms rely on. This was their international company kick-off, bringing teams from across the world together in Dubai.
Stepping in at short notice
In early 2020 a client came to us in a difficult spot. They had been let down by their previous provider, and with only eight weeks left they needed a full week of conference sessions and team-building activities delivered for their international team. At that point there was no venue, no confirmed location, and no logistics in place.
We stepped in straight away and took full responsibility for the project. When a job lands like that, there is no easing in: someone has to own every moving part from the first phone call, and that is exactly what we did.
Building the event from the ground up
We started with the two things everything else depends on: securing the right venue and organising all the travel. In parallel, we built a programme designed to energise a global workforce and bring them together rather than simply fill a schedule.
Working closely with the client, we turned their ideas into a complete, well-structured week. Every session had a reason to be there.
A fresh experience every day
Across the nine days, each day introduced something new. We built a varied itinerary that mixed cultural experiences with business-driven sessions, so the energy never dipped.
Delegates enjoyed dinner at a popular Pan Asian restaurant, traditional hospitality at a Bedouin encampment in the desert, and bold dishes at an award-winning Mexican venue. Between the meals, the adrenaline arrived: 4x4 dune bashing across the golden sands, a clear favourite for many attendees.
Dynamic evenings, meaningful sessions
The evenings were just as lively. A live open mic and band night brought everyone together in a relaxed, creative atmosphere, and a rooftop cocktail party later gave the group stunning views and a chance to unwind.
Running through the week, the four-day conference included structured breakout sessions built to encourage collaboration, fresh thinking and strategic discussion, all woven smoothly into the wider programme.
Strengthening team spirit
To build even stronger connections, we ran a dedicated team-building session followed by a party boat trip around The Palms. That mix of focused teamwork and shared adventure is what lifts a group of colleagues into a team that actually knows each other.
