Two days, three rooms, one hundred silent headsets. Behind the scenes of our full event production for SPA Life International at Whittlebury Park Hotel, Northamptonshire — a conference, exhibition and gala dinner for the spa and wellness industry.

Some jobs arrive months before the van does. This one began back in February, when the organiser — who found us through the Delegate Wranglers events community — met Andrew on site at Whittlebury Park to walk the rooms and talk through the brief in person. From that conversation came a detailed quote, a confirmed booking, and this summer, a full production build.
The BuildA three-room production
The event ran across three spaces, each with its own technical setup. The Soundcheck team built everything on the Sunday, ready for doors Monday morning — and de-rigged it all when the last delegate left.
In the main room, two 3 × 2 metre LED video walls flanked a printed centrepiece — a clean, high-impact backdrop that carried speaker content, sponsor branding and session graphics across both days, with two of our crew running the room throughout.

A conference and an exhibition — in the same room, at the same time
The second room presented exactly the kind of challenge we enjoy: it hosted the conference programme and the exhibition simultaneously. Speakers presenting on stage while, metres away, exhibitors talked to visitors on their stands. Normally that's a recipe for nobody hearing anything.
Our answer: take the sound off the speakers and put it straight onto the delegates.
Every seat got a wireless headset fed directly from the stage microphones. Delegates heard every word in perfect clarity; exhibitors carried on their conversations undisturbed; and the room did the work of two venues at once. It's a solution we now offer for any event fighting ambient noise — exhibitions, breakout sessions, multi-stream conferences and venue tours.

An engineer on the desk, all day, every day
Every Soundcheck job comes with an experienced engineer — it's the heart of how we work. At Whittlebury that meant live vision mixing between speaker content and camera feeds, a rack of Sennheiser radio microphones (handhelds and headsets, colour-coded per presenter), and a digital desk keeping every panel discussion and Q&A perfectly balanced.

From conference to gala
When the conference wrapped, the work didn't. The evening brought the gala dinner — sound and lighting for the live entertainment, and a room turned around from daytime sessions to evening celebration. Two days, one team, every technical detail handled end to end.
